Allied General is a strategy game based on World War II. It is most definitely not a member of the new breed of the modern, real-time war games, inspired by the excellent COMMAND AND CONQUER. Instead, ALLIED GENERAL favors the more traditional, turn-based style of strategy gameplay, and does a good job of it. It must really be said from the start that Allied General will not only find favor with true strategy gamers, but with regular gamers as well. Advanced AI, detailed statistics, complex strategies, and innovative graphics all add up to make a war game that is truly old-school. This is a very good thing in the case of Allied General, as old-school means great gameplay. To add to your strategy experience, the game uses video and audio clips during briefings. This enhances the realism of the game and makes you feel more like a real general. If you're into WWII or are just looking for a good strategy game, pick this one up.
