Description
CD-i or Compact Disc Interactive is the name of an interactive multimedia CD player developed and marketed by Royal Philips Electronics N.V. CD-i also refers to the multimedia Compact Disc standard utilized by the CD-i console, also known as Green Book, which was co-developed by Philips and Sony in 1986 (not to be confused with MMCD, the pre-DVD format also co-developed by Philips and Sony). The first Philips CD-i player, released in 1991 and initially priced around USD $700, was capable of playing interactive CD-i discs, Audio CDs, CD+G (CD+Graphics), Karaoke CDs, and Video CDs (VCDs), though the latter required an optional "Digital Video Card" to provide MPEG-1 decoding.

I ask you a question, please answer if you know : is there a patch existing to read CDi on a PC? If so, where could I find it? I have some interesting CDi's (like the "Queen Greatest Flix I & II") that I can't read anymore as it's broken and I can't find any. Thanks!

I dont know much about the system. I remember playing (or at least trying to play) Hotel Mario at Montgomery Wards years back. I'd forgoten about it since. I read a game magazine article recently about zelda games and it mentioned the Zelda games for CDI (Yes I think there were 2 of them). I've been wanting to get my hands on the games ever since.

Actually, there were 3 zelda CDI games. Nintendo and Phillips teamed up for awhile and were going to make a system, but the deal was cut. Phillips still had rights to Zelda for a few years, though, so they made "Adventure of Zelda", "Wands of Gamelon", and "Faces of Evil".

Phillips Cd-i is now owned and opperated by a company called PMPRO. They can be reached at pmpro.com. They still sell games and systems. They have color catologs of all thier products. The only way to get games or hardware is my internet and mail.
