The time is somewhere between the destruction of the first Death-Star and the return of the evil Empire. You are Luke Skywalker, leader of a rag-tag group of Rebel pilots, determined to squelch the efforts of the Imperial forces. Fly all of your favorite ships, the X-Wing, Y-Wing, Snow Speeder, and Millennium Falcon, as well as secret ships like the Naboo Starfighter (EPISODE I), a TIE interceptor, and a 1978 Buick (no kidding). A single-player outing, STAR WARS: Rogue Squadron takes you through 16 impressive levels of flying, over water, through barren deserts, into canyons, amid treetops and volcanoes. You'll battle such foes as AT-ATs, AT-STs, TIE Fighters, and many more. Featuring unparalleled flight simulation, top-shelf graphics, and a soundscape right out of the STAR WARS series, STAR WARS: Rogue Squadron's success is all in the details. The gameplay is excellent, and the varied terrain alone is enough to keep the replay value high. You get a few wingmen to help you out, but this is mostly Luke's game. You might think you know everything there is to know about STAR WARS, but unless you've got a heart of steel, quick reflexes, and an itchy trigger finger, you'll just be another Rebel statistic.
