Description
The Virtual Boy was the first home video game console capable of displaying "true 3D graphics." Most video games are forced to use perspective to achieve the illusion of three dimensions on a two-dimensional screen, but the Virtual Boy was able to create a more accurate illusion of depth through an effect known as parallax. In a manner similar to using a Head Mounted Display, the user places their face inside a pair of rubber goggles on the front of the machine, and then an eyeglass-style projector allows viewing of the monochromatic (in this case black and red) image. Released on August 14, 1995 in the USA and July 21, 1995 in Japan - at a price of around $180. It met with a lukewarm reception that was unaffected by continued price drops. Nintendo eventually discontinued it the following year.

I HAVE This, This is a pretty neat system...its not great but its neat! I have 7 games for it!:

Telro boxer
Wario Land
Marios Tennis
Panic Bomber
Vertical Force
Red Alarm
Some Japanese Golf Game

all in all its a great system... not the best .. but great...

heres a small history for anyone who cares:
The guy who created Game n watch (little hand held donkey kong games) also created Gameboy, and the gameboy pocket! he was the creator of the Dpad! and also the Invnetor of the one and only Virtual boy! but the virtual boy was a flop... nintendo knew this right away... and at a E3 show nintendo stuck the inventor of the vboy, in the same booth as the N64! jsut to humilate him! No one went to the booth for the V-boy, only to see the N64!

well a few years latter The creator 9never remeberd his name) and a partner was in a car accident, they where fine, they rear ended a guy, no bigggie, but when the two got out to check the damage, they where both hit by a passing car killing them both..... its sad how things happen...... but every time I play my B&w gameboy, or my GB pocket, or my Virtual boy I have a moment of silence for this game giant!

This system ROCKS! All that crap about damaging your eyes is nonsense! I play it for hours at a time and it didn't do anything to me.

this system is the best. there are strict warnings in the instructions it never hurt mine, my dads,my moms,sisters(2), or x-wife and serveral of my friends. some of you people probally had problems in the first place. i have about five games for the system the vr is kickin and so is the sound. Red alarm is got to be the hardest game i have ever played. Does mario clash ever end haha. e mail me if you want to sell your games.

Well, the eye thing doesnt bother me for one reason. As a kid, I read the warning on the side of a pair of 3D glasses that said "Do not stare directly into light", so I naturaly put them on and stared at a light bulb. I now have hues of red and blue permanently in my eyes. Another thing I have to say, Virtual bowling and VTetris used to be rentable at Blockbuster video when the system was releases, and I swear I saw the bowling game as "Nesters Funky bowl" at a Nobody beats the Wiz the christmas of the Virtual Boys release...
