  • Description
CRUIS'N USA is Midway Games arcade hit from the mid-? 90s that ate up its share of quarters. At home on your Nintendo 64 you may miss the sticky arcade floors and the steering wheel, but once you hit the open road steering with the Nintendo 64's analog joystick, you'll leave your worries behind. Select your car from the four that are initially offered and get busy on your cross-country journey. Fourteen tracks will take you from one end of the United States to the other. However, since there are no conventional racetracks, there are no laps, and racing involves traveling from point A to point B as quickly as possible against up to eight computer players (or one human player). CRUIS'N USA offers the option for five difficulty levels, three views, automatic or manual transmission, and racing against oncoming traffic.

    It's the Best
by Cruisin USA 18 Jun 2007

Last night I picked this game up from it's box on my shelf, and I popped it into my N64. Boy was I surprised. I had forgotten just how fun this game was. I made a profile and entered the main screen. I played it for 5 hours. In that time I maxed out 5 of the 7 classic cars, and I am currently half-way through another one. I have decided that even though there have been MAJOR improvements in racing games since 1996, this one still takes the cake as my favorite racing game ever.
