Description
Earth Defense (also known as The Earth Defend) is a vertical shoot em' developed by AV Artisan, a Taiwanese company, and published by Realtec. The game contains five levels each which take place at the five major continents of the world. I should mention that this game is HARD. Enemies fly out from random corners of the screen at fast speeds and move in erratic patterns. What doesn't help is when your weapon can only fire One set of bullets at a time, making things More difficult (why would you limit your firing capabilities in a shooter?) The bosses can be annoying not because of their difficulty, but because they take TONS of hits. Even if you use up all your invincibility and blast the boss in the face, they'll still be standing, especially in later levels. There's slowdown in this game when there's a lot on screen, but I see that as an act of mercy with how hectic it can get. As far as the good, the music isn't too bad. It was composed by Hsu Yamin, who did the music in Gamtec's unlicensed games (Magic Girl, Legend of Wukong, etc.) The graphics have a simple quality to them; not terribly detailed, but it gives off a "cartoon"-ish vibe. I personally like this game, but some might find it "cheap," so I would mainly recommend it to hardcore shooter fans or those looking for a real challenge.
