Socom: U.S. Navy Seals series is a phenomenal hit on the PS2, and now the series comes to the PSP with
Socom: Navy Seals: Fireteam Bravo. The portable version features all the great gameplay, large maps, and multiplayer options that the console version has. In Fireteam Bravo, players play as Sandman, the leader of a two person Seal team. Although players only have one ally, Lonestar, he still works just like the squad did. Players can give him orders or let him act on his own. These
command include standard follow and attack orders plus context-sensitive commands like defuse explosives or breach the wall. The gameplay is very similar to the PS2 version of Socom, with the exception of the implementation of the lock on feature that replaces using the second analog stick to aim. Gamers hit the shoulder buttons to rotate through targets, and the game automatically locks on to a new target when it appears. The single player mode features 14 different missions ranging from Chile to South Africa and Poland. Some of the missions actually occur simultaneously with those in Socom 3, creating a nice in-game continuity fans of the series will enjoy. Finally, up to 16 players can compete in either ad hoc or internet play. Online play includes many extra features like
leaderboards, , friends list,
deathmatchs, and more. Fans of the Socom series who want to take the action with them wherever they go will love Socom: U.S. Navy Seals: Fireteam Bravo.
