Description
Nintendo and Namco have teamed up to bring gamers the next Game Cube entry in the Star Fox series: Star Fox: Assault. Fox and his team, Slippy Toad, Peppy Hare, and Falco Lombardi, are up against the Aparoids this time, alien insects who want to absorb Fox's planet Corneria and the rest of the galaxy. Fox wastes no time in getting back to his starfighter and blasting off to take down the Aparoids? spaceships and saving the planet. Some levels of Assault take place in space, putting players in control of Fox's starfighter as he blasts his way through enemy ships while executing rolls and loops. Other levels send Fox to the surface of a planet, where, armed with an upgradeable blaster, he must take out enemy ground soldiers while accomplishing a mission. During these ground missions, Fox has access to his fighter and to a tank, giving players much-needed firepower. Plus, his wing-mates often join him in both space and ground attacks. After defeating story mode, players can return to any mission in an attempt to gain higher ratings or survival mode. A multiplayer mode is also available with both team-based and deathmatch combat for up to four players. Longtime Star Fox fans won't want to miss this entry in the series. The action-packed space battles and thrilling ground missions make Star Fox: Assault another exciting Fox McCloud adventure.
