Jerry Glanville's Pigskin Footbrawl for the Sega Genesis. Did you know that football dates back to the seventh century? Calling it football wouldn't be quite right, though. That's why with the former Houston Oilers/Atlanta Falcons coach's seal of approval -- it's called Jerry Glanville's Pigskin Footbrawl.
There are two teams in this game, one red and one blue and they don't like each other very much. Each team has one armored player and several "regular" players, which can be killed. The armored players (controlled by players one and two) are able to pick up weapons and kill any poor armorless players that happen to cross their path. Death methods include spears, swords, and spikes.
There are two playing fields, one for each half of the game. During the second half, if a team is too far behind the crowd can call for a troll, which is just as powerful as an armored player is. The action only stops if a team scores a touchdown, making the gameplay similar to rugby. However, this is a unique football experience. As Jerry Glanville says on the game's box, "It's football with an attitude . . . a bad attitude."
