Eye Toy Kinetic is an innovative workout and exciting game for fitness and fun. I appreciate the opportunity to review it.
Eye Toy Kinetic is your own personal trainer. Choose a male (Matt) or female (Anna) personal trainer character. After a brief survey, Anna leveled me as a beginner. She scheduled short, easy workouts. Each workout started with an optional warm up and ended with an optional stretch. Anna explained every exercise in detail. She told me how to complete each move, warned of common mistakes, and described its benefits. She encouraged me to work hard and persevere to completion. She would say, “Only 30 seconds left, give me your best to the end.” When I missed a workout, I could not make it up. That motivated me to be more consistent with my workout schedule. When I tried to workout twice in one day, Anna said I needed a rest day, but I could play in Routine Builder mode. The personal trainer instructs, motivates, admonishes, and encourages the player to accomplish realistic, satisfying goals.
Eye Toy Kinetic is fun to play: As I played, my eleven-year-old son kept jumping in to “help” me. When we played together, we laughed and joked: “You must become one with the balls.” “That had to hurt!” My son also exclaimed: “This is the final boss!” “Look at me!” I had to make him stop playing when I saw he was becoming too tired. He excels in this game.
Tips for playing: Take your time setting up the play environment. Experiment with the focus, distance, and angle of the Eye Toy and the room lighting. Background clutter, motion and lights can reduce accuracy. For safety, get obstacles and living creatures out of the way. You may be surprised how wide your play area will become.
Eye Toy Kinetic is a new, refreshing way to strengthen core muscles, increase cardiovascular endurance, and burn calories. You can improve balance and coordination. The audiovisual prompts and feedback from the game motivate and reward game play. The full-body lens that fits on the Eye Toy allows you to play with your head, arms, and feet. The Eye Toy can sense your movements all the way to the floor. You can hit the targets by lying on the floor and kicking them, and even by head-butting them. You can vary your actions and still succeed. You’ll have fun while getting a full-body workout.
