Dispatched by the Earth Federation in order to quell an uprising on Mars, two experimental fighters are sent to the Red Planet where they must confront an onslaught of enemies alone. Though faced with seemingly insurmountable odds across the game's six stages, each ship is equipped with normal and piercing shots, in addition to the powerful Gravity Hole Bomb device. Piercing shots are the more powerful of the two basic weapons, though their damage potential relies solely on the player's proximity to each enemy; the closer you are, the more damage is dealt.
